Register for 11/20/21 California Youth Leadership Summit

The California Youth Leadership Summit will be streamed with Japanese subtitles on Friday, November 20th, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm California time.

This California statewide summit is led by youth for youth focusing on issues that high school and college students are concerned with under the theme of Peace, Kindness and Cooperation. Panel session topics include world peace and cooperation, racial & gender equity, climate change & sustainability, and coping with the pandemic. The event will end with an International Forum of students from around the world and there will be thousands of youth joining the interactive audience from over 100 countries.

Guest moderators include:

  • professional surfer/Olympian (Silver Medalist) Kanoa Igarashi
  • former NFL Quarterback and current ESPN College football analyst Mark Sanchez
  • Guinness World Record Holding Mountaineer Marin Minamiya
  • British Consul General in Los Angeles Emily Cloke
  • Los Angeles Deputy Mayor for International Affairs Nina Hachigian and
  • Anaheim City Council Member / Cal State Long Beach Associate Professor Dr. Jose Moreno.

The California Youth Leadership Summit Official Song, “Shine” will be performed by rising international star, Jagwar Twin, who is climbing the charts in numerous countries overseas. L.A. singer/vocalist Leanna Rachel will sing her rendition of “Coffee,” which was featured in the original motion picture soundtrack for the Indonesian film Filosofi Kipi 2.  

The California Youth Leadership Summit is organized by the Sister Cities International Southern and Northern California Chapters. Sister Cities International was founded in 1956 by President Dwight Eisenhower for the purpose of bringing about peace throughout the world through citizen diplomacy. Today, this network unites tens of thousands of citizen diplomats and volunteers in 500 member communities with over 1,800 sister city partnerships in 138 countries on six continents. California has more sister city organizations than any other state in the U.S.: 82 California cities have 356 partnerships with cities overseas in over 70 countries.  The California Youth Leadership Summit has gained the support of the consulates of the Philippines, Britain, Japan, China, Mexico, Canada, New Zealand, France, India, Argentina, Cambodia, Armenia, and Lithuania.
