Love to Nippon 2014

Los Angeles Nagoya SCA will be supporting  in attendance this Love Nippon Project, the Third Anniversary Event.  Location is at the Los Angeles Police Department Auditorium Saturday March 08, 2014 starting at 1:00pm.  Rsvp is a must for this free event (310) 484-1800 as seating is limited.  Parking lots surround the area near City Hall and Little Tokyo.

WHAT: “Love to Nippon 2014” (“Love to Japan 2014”) Memorial Event to Commemorate Third Anniversary of Japan’s Worst Natural Disaster – the “3.11” Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami.

WHEN: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM, Saturday, MARCH 8, 2014
1:00 pm Outdoor booths and Preparedness Demonstrations
1:30 pm Prayers including flower and incense offerings
2:00 pm Special service prayer by local dignitary
3:00 pm Memorial program

WHY: To pay tribute via prayer to loved ones lost and those still suffering from the March 11, 2011 Earthquake and Tsunami in Japan and raise awareness of disaster preparedness via a panel discussion. Love to Nippon Project aims to establish “3.11” (March 11th) as an official disaster preparedness day for all of Southern California.

WHO: Participants include: Nikkei Interfaith Fellowship Group of Little Tokyo; Los Angeles Buddhist Temple Federation; L.A. Daiku; Grateful Crane Ensemble; Holiness Youth Choir; special delegation from Fukushima Prefecture of Japan; LA County Fire Department’s Battalion Chief and first responder in Japan; Larry Collins, LA County Fire Department Assistant BC David Stone and Red Cross.

Presented by Japan America Society of Southern California (JASSC), Nanka Fukushima Kenjinkai, Japan and America Women Club; Nichi Bei Fujin Kai (NBFK) and Love to Nippon Project
