Numerous cities in Southern California with Japanese sister cities commemorated the 75th anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki with citizen diplomats and city leaders taking part in bell ringings. These events took place on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at 4:15 pm PDT and on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at 7:02 pm PDT to coincide with the actual times and dates the atomic bombs fell on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, respectively.
