On Saturday, August 12th, 2017 the regional / quarterly meeting of Sister Cities International Southern California Chapter was held at the“Citizens Meeting Room” in Newport City Hall in Newport City, California. Southern California Sister Cities President Anthony Al-Jamie and Newport Beach Sister City Association President Liddy Paulson welcomed the attendees. Presentations included Newport Beach Sister City Association VP Connie Skibba and two Student Ambassador Exchange Students who talked about their student exchange program, Newport Beach Library Services Director and Board of Directors City Liaison Tim Hetherton who talked about the Newport Beach Library Services & Sister City Program. SCI State Representatives Kathleen Roche-Tansey and Pat Fallin gave a report on the 2017 Sister Cities International Annual Conference in Virginia Beach. Recently appointed Sister Cities International Board of Directors Young Professional Member and actor/philanthropist Shin Koyamada talked about his plans for sister city involvement.
