On January 23, 2016, the Los Angeles – Nagoya Sister City Affiliation (LANSCA) held its annual new year’s luncheon at the Miyako Hotel in Little Tokyo. Speeches were given by special guest Japan Deputy Consul General Izuru Shimmura as well as past LANSCA chairpersons Ernest Higa and Norman Arakawa, and current LANSCA chairperson Teruko Weinberg. LANSCA member Dickson Perry gave a presentation on the LANSCA 2015 Student Exchange Program. Kirk Nishikawa of the Nishikawa-ryu Dance School performed a celebratory dance “Kotobuki” and led the LANSCA members in a group dance.
