In June, 2022, 1,000 male and female swimsuits of different sizes from children to adult were donated by the Los Angeles County Fire Department and sent to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico through an alliance between Sister Cities International Southern California Chapter, Huntington Park Sister Cities (HPSC) and the International Firefighter Training Association (IFTA). We thank Mayo Villalpando and Sebastian Aldana of the Santa Barbara-Puerto Vallarta Sister Cities Committee for picking up the suits from the IFTA warehouse and taking them to Los Angeles for packaging and shipping to Puerto Vallarta.  In addition, we are thankful to Nino’s de Roma AC (Art Fumerton), the nonprofit in Puerto Vallarta that took inventory and administered the donation process to low income children, adults, orphanages, volunteer lifeguards, and firefighters.
